Rabbi Pohl:
Kol Shalom is a small congregation by most standards. We are approximately 135 membership units consisting of
at least a few hundred people. Nevertheless, on any given weekend an impartial observer could easily
ascertain that there are many different recognizable groups within our one congregation.
On Friday nights there are usually between 15 - 25 people in attendance. Most of those people do not return
for the Sabbath service held the next morning. Consequently, the 40 (approximately) worshipers on Shabbat
morning represent a different group of Kol Shalom members.
Show up on Sunday morning at 9:30 and you will discover an entirely different group of people who make up

Our president Howard Salob:
The five years since our merger to become Congregation Kol Shalom have gone by very quickly. I am pleased to say that we have a very cohesive and vibrant synagogue with our building being used more now than ever before. On May 19, the gala dinner for our wonderful spiritual leader, Rabbi Philip Pohl, will be held with a packed synagogue for a fitting tribute for a wonderful man. I am sure that everyone who is attending will have a wonderful time.

Usually I take this opportunity to tell you about the exciting things that we have been doing at DRRS, and in fact, we just got back from an amazing field trip to Gary Rosenthal's Studio in Kensington. I will tell you more about the trip next time, so check back!
The Jewish Educators Assembly held an awards dinner on Sunday, April 21. Two members of our DRRS family, along with eleven others in the Baltimore-Washington area, were honored that night. This year our honorees were Laura Kleiman and Lana Schultz
